Overview

During my Freshman Spring, I decided to do another side project. This time I wanted to make myself a jewelry box. I started looking for designs online and after reviewing a good amount of different jewelry boxes I started designing mine. I took the best aspects from each one (for example, the aluminum mesh in the sides of the metal tube on the top to hang long earrings) and implemented some of my own (making it in a "basket shape" so that it would be easy to carry it around).

What did I learn?

Significance of Project

This project was very important for me because it made me remember how much I like to learn. MIT is a difficult place and sometimes you can forget how much you enjoy learning new things because of all the stress that classes and personal problems that happen. This is why I decided to laser cut in the buttons a "pi" –to remember me how much I love STEM– and the quote "just dance it out" –to remember me that if I put enough effort into something, in the end everything will be all right.
