Antonella Masini
Hola! I’m an MIT graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science who loves using technology, particularly AI-enabled systems, to create measurable real-world impact. I’m a jack-of-all-trades, with a deep bias toward building: I’ve led software, hardware, and product projects from design to launch, often working at the intersection of engineering, design, and human experience. Across five cities, multiple startups, and a solo backpacking journey, I've learned not only how to solve hard technical problems, but how to listen closely, adapt quickly, and bridge the gap between complex technology and the people it’s meant to serve.
As a proud Latina in STEM, I want to dedicate my life to opening doors for other young girls with big dreams, like I once was, and building AI systems that empower people rather than overwhelm them.
Outside of work, you’ll find me running, tinkering with side projects, training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or learning new songs on the ukulele, because making, experimenting, and learning isn’t just my profession, it’s how I move through the world… preferably with what seems to be a bottomless cup of coffee ☕

About:
I’m originally from Peru, where I grew up building sandcastles and dancing around bonfires soaking my feet in the Pacific. At 17, I left home to study at MIT becoming the first in my family to graduate from college. I earned a full scholarship after winning the Breakthrough Junior Challenge with an educational video on quantum entanglement that I created while self-studying for the SATs.
That video changed my life. It opened my eyes to the fact that I could be more. I had never left my country before, and winning this international competition showed me that opportunities I once thought were out of reach were possible if I gave my all to pursue them. It gave me the courage to believe in myself, and it’s why I now want to empower other small girls with big dreams to believe in themselves too.
My Journey in Tech:
Since MIT, I’ve lived and worked across Boston, NYC, Southeast Asia, and Madrid –each move shaping how I think about people, technology, and the problems worth solving. I’ve built backend systems, consumer products, hardware tools and, more recently, AI-enabled software systems, but what has stayed constant is my interest in how people actually experience technology once it's deployed. Over time, I’ve learned not only how to solve hard technical problems, but also how to listen, adapt, and translate complexity into solutions that truly serve people.
In 2024, I backpacked for five months through Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Between night buses and island ferries, I took coding courses and built small projects, discovering how much I enjoy working with software. In Vietnam, I volunteered at a local school teaching kids and teens Math and English, which reminded me how much I love sharing and democratizing knowledge. These gap-months gave me clarity: I love tech, but I love the human and business side just as much.
I know my background is unconventional, and I see that as my unique strength. MechE gave me a rigorous foundation in problem-solving, design, and systems thinking. Software sharpened my product thinking and strategy. Today, I work most comfortably in the space between disciplines, where problems are ambiguous and success depends on experimentation.
